Alison has over 14 years’ experience in advising on all aspects of the employment relationship and the problems encountered by companies and individuals alike in the workplace. She is passionate about tailoring solutions to fit her clients’ goals.
Alison started her career with a Magic Circle firm and has worked for a number of large investment banks, hedge funds and other financial institutions. She has extensive experience of advising on acquisitions in the property sector and has spent time in-house with a major retail and tech company.
Her experience ranges from advising on the day-to-day HR and ER diet of family rights, disciplinary/ grievance concerns and performance management issues, to conducting employment tribunal and high court litigation in connection with team moves, equal pay disputes, claims of discrimination, unfair dismissal and whistleblowing.
She has extensive experience advising on large scale redundancies and restructuring exercises. She is familiar with the headaches that TUPE can bring to acquisitions and service provider contracts and can advise on how to handle and provide for these risks.
Notable pieces of recent work include tribunal litigation concerning an employee’s use of social media and the impact that had on the employer, a successful defence of unfavourable treatment alleged by a potential whistleblower, and a high value bonus claim which reached the Court of Appeal.
