Emma is an experienced employment litigator, advising on all aspects of employment law and strategy, for both employers and senior executives.
With over 20 years’ experience, she has a particular focus on High Court disputes involving post-termination restrictive covenants, team moves and confidential information. She is highly experienced in advising on taking action, ranging from securing undertakings to obtaining urgent injunctive relief to enforce the employer’s rights and protect confidential information. Emma also has experience acting for departing employees in a “team move” situation and representing individuals accused of conspiracy.
Emma’s clients come from a broad range of sectors, and she has particular expertise advising IT businesses and clients in entertainment and retail. She has also completed senior in-house secondments for large UK companies.

- Acting for an IT recruitment business successfully obtaining undertakings against three former employees for potential breach of covenants and conspiracy to cause harm
- Successfully navigating the acquisition and team move of a team of IT recruiters from a competitor organisation to establish a new regional office for a long-standing recruitment client
- Acting for three Defendants in a nine day High Court conspiracy trial successfully defending allegations of breach of restrictions and conspiracy to cause harm
- The successful defence of claims brought by multiple regulated claimants who had been dismissed for removing confidential information following a redundancy exercise
- Acting for the Managing Director of a regulated business successfully defending claims for breach of covenant and theft of confidential information when he moved to a competitor business
- Acting for a founder COO and founding shareholder of a fintech company in an acrimonious unfair dismissal claim, whistleblowing complaint and unfair prejudice petition
- Defending complex and potentially reputation-damaging tribunal claims involving several elements of discrimination, whistleblowing and equal pay allegations up to Supreme Court level
