Garry Karch heads the firm’s specialist EOT practice and advises business owners on employee ownership transitions.

With more than 35 years’ experience, Garry works with business owners, shareholders and management teams considering employee ownership as an alternative to a third‑party sale. He advises clients across a wide range of sectors on how to structure and fund EOT transactions that support business continuity, protect employees and enable owners to exit on fair and commercial terms.

Garry is widely recognised as one of the UK’s leading EOT advisers. He has completed more than 175 employee ownership transactions in the UK and US, with a combined value close to £1 billion. His expertise spans the full lifecycle of an EOT transaction, including valuation, transaction structuring, raising third‑party and vendor finance, and completing the sale to the trust. His approach ensures that EOTs deliver long‑term independence for the business while achieving a fair outcome for exiting owners.

Having joined Doyle Clayton in 2019 after a senior career in corporate finance and employee ownership advisory roles in the UK and US, Garry brings deep commercial insight to every transaction. He manages the EOT process end‑to‑end and works closely with colleagues across corporate, employment and tax disciplines to deliver a seamless and practical solution for clients.

Garry is widely regarded as one of the UK’s best‑known Employee Ownership Trust advisers.
