Doyle Clayton’s Education team - best in class – shortlisted for two awards
Following on from our Education team ranking in London’s top tier by The Legal 500 and a personal band one listing (Expert/Leading Individual) for its head Simon Henthorn, the team has once again been shortlisted in its annual awards by The Legal 500 for its work advising the UK education sector with Simon shortlisted in the Public Sector Individual (London) category.
The team which also includes Liz Timmins and Anna Blackden was set up in 2014 by Partner Simon Henthorn and regularly works with clients such as Christ the King Sixth Form College, Hampton School, Stanmore College and Queenswood School. It also works closely with a number of representative associations including IAPS (the Independent Association of Prep Schools), ISBA (The Independent Schools' Bursars Association) and the Sixth Form Colleges Association. The team also has a strong reputation advising individuals, including Professors, Head teachers and Bursars.
Simon has been ranked as a national expert for his work with schools since 2012 (by Chambers Guide) and both Liz Timmins and Anna Blackden achieved similar status this year in The Legal 500. The Legal 500 Annual Awards are unique in the legal industry and recognise the very best law firms, chambers, silks, in-house lawyers, business leaders and general counsel operating within the UK market.
Peter Doyle, Doyle Clayton’s Chief Executive comments:
“Once again, I’m immensely pleased that our Education team has received the recognition it deserves and to be shortlisted for such a prestigious national award two years in a row is outstanding. I am not at all surprised that Simon has also been recognised personally, and along with excellent lawyers Liz and Anna the team has built one of the UK’s foremost specialist education practices and will continue to be in high demand. The fact that all of the team was recommended by The Legal 500 this year shows the depth and quality of the team, and for independent feedback via Chambers Guide on the team to include the following goes to show that any organisation or individual employed or involved in the sector would be well placed to use them for any legal or related issue."
- “It (the team) is excellent. We have found everyone we have associated with to be approachable, friendly and engaging.”
- “I found the team very responsive, thorough and very competent. The firm provided good value for money. I would happily use them again and also would recommend them to others.”
- “Doyle Clayton, and in particular Simon Henthorn, has been an especially good, helpful and straightforward source of advice and support. He has an excellent understanding of both legal issues and the context within which we operate. He is intelligent, proactive and creative in suggesting possible solutions to problems. A really safe pair of hands and a trusted source of both tactical and strategic advice and guidance.” ”
Events that Simon and his team will be exhibiting at in 2019 include the annual conference of The Independent Schools' Bursars Association (ISBA) held in May in Manchester as well as the annual conferences of The Independent Association of Prep Schools (IAPS) and the Association of Colleges (AoC).
